Finally, a website dedicated to pre-collegiate anthropology!

Two new text books, especially written for high school students by Irwin Cohen, are now available.

In Search of the Origins of Humanness, A Journey Into Physical Anthropology, an original and student friendly text on physical anthropology, outlines the biocultural basis of our humanness.

Anthropology Through the News, based on articles taken from the Los Angeles Times, introduces high school students to the relevance of cultural anthropology in their lives.

Designed for beginning anthropology students, the two texts contain student friendly, hands-on field exercises that provide students with some of the skills that anthropologists apply doing field work and analyzing and reconstructing both past and present cultures.

The many humorous cartoon drawings that illustrate the text, by artist Chris Lynch, helps keep the discussions lively. The texts are a distillation of author Irwin Cohen's  many years' experience teaching pre-collegiate anthropology.
